About this Event
Fiona Davis is the New York Times bestselling author of five novels, including The Dollhouse, The Address, The Chelsea Girls, and The Masterpiece. She will talk about her new book The Lions of Fifth Avenue.
The year is 1913. New York is the world’s fastest growing city. Over a dozen daily newspapers are read by more than five million people. While immigrants live in stifling squalor on the Lower East Side, the lingering Gilded Age millionaires and new industrialists dispense extraordinary philanthropy. Two of the institutions they created – the New York Public Library and the Columbia Journalism School – play important roles in this new novel.
