Back-to-School Beach Bash at Lanier Islands
As the store shelves lined with school supplies would indicate, summer vacation will soon be coming to an end for many Atlanta area students. In order to give them a well-deserved summertime sendoff before they head back to the hallowed halls of their respective schools, Lanier Islands is teaming up with STAR94.1 to host a Back-to-School Beach Bash at LanierWorld – the beach, boardwalk and water park entertainment district set on the shores of Lake Lanier. The Bash is slated to take place on Saturday, July 30 from noon to 11 p.m. with live entertainment, a movie on the Spectacular Screen and the Islands’ signature brand of LanierWorld fun in the sun with more than a dozen waterslides, rides and attractions.
The Back-to-School Beach Bash Entertainment Schedule* includes:
- Big fun on Big Beach from noon - 6 pm, including Bubble and Magic Show with Aaron Clark, friendly street performers, Lanier Islands Summer Games and DJ Josh spinning kid-friendly tunes on Big Beach throughout the day
- Scavenger Hunt with prizes provided by Animal Planet
- Live Remote and Movie Mingle with Tingle of STAR 94.1 on Big Beach, featuring Zootopia on the five-story, high-definition Spectacular Screen beginning at 7:30 pm
- No need for grown-ups to feel left out of the fun! Also taking place at LanierWorld simultaneous to the Beach Bash: Country music artist, Justin Dukes, will perform live onstage at Sunset Cove from 3pm - 7pm, followed by a DJ spinning tunes from 7pm - 11pm
Access to the Back-to-School Beach Bash is included in season-long Adventure Passes and General Admission Tickets, which are available for $41.99 for adults and children over 42" tall, $30.99 for children under 42” and seniors 55+, and free for children 2 and under. Grandparents are also FREE with a paying child. As featured every day of the 2016 LanierWorld season, active military members, police officers and fire personnel are also granted free admission** to the park.
While the return to school may mark the end of summer break for many, it doesn’t mean the end of summer fun at LanierWorld. The park will still be open to sunbathers, beach goers and waterslide warriors the full week of August 1-7, after which time LanierWorld will be open on weekends through the final Labor Day Weekend celebration. The last day of the 2016 season at LanierWorld will be Sunday, September 11.
