Author Martha Alanis will talk about her new book, I Am American. Soy Mexicana. Soy Me.

A wonderfully illustrated bilingual, children's book that shares the journey of a little American girl as she moves to Mexico. What will she find when she gets there? Is school the same? Will she find new friends? Lots of surprises in store for Martina. She doesn’t know how to read in Spanish and worries about fitting in. Join Martina and her family as they leave their home in the USA to a new one in Mexico.

Martha Alanis is a dedicated educator whose family roots originate in Mexico. Her unique immigration story reflects a story that's familiar with many people who emigrate to the USA from Mexico.
